My name is Tiffany and I’m 26 years old. I live in a tiny town in NW Ohio with my husband, Mark. (We were married May 17, 2008). We have 8 cats and one dogs (all outside, thank goodness! haha) that we adore.. most of the time.
We are currently expecting our first child – a girl! She is due to arrive June 28, 2010
When asked if I have siblings, I usually say that I have two sisters because I was raised the oldest of three girls. However, my biological father has a son, so I also have an older brother. I met my biological father and brother when I was 12 but haven’t seen them since. (I recently found my brother on Myspace and have been trying to keep in contact with that part of the family. One of my biological father’s sisters even made it to my wedding .. first time meeting her :)) The man who raised me also has two older daughters that I consider half-sisters (even though they’re the same age/older than my mom). Technically, all of my siblings are “halves”. My biological parents were never married. I was born four months before my mom and non-biological father were married, and they divorced when I was nine. He is, and always was, “dad”, even if there was a time when I didn’t appreciate him.
I’m short; not even 5′3”.
I have social anxiety disorder, I don’t work or drive, I dropped out of high school and I have very few friends “in real life”. I don’t think there is anything I can say about myself that is particularly inspiring or even exciting.
Most of my husband’s family is apostolic. They are very close (as are the members of the church), which is something I’ve come to appreciate. Mark’s family typically has supper together on Sundays at one of three or four homes. It’s one of the things I look forward to during the week. (Mark and I also attend church most Sundays when he doesn’t work. We, however, are not members of the church and have no plans at this time to join.)
I love to cook and try to new recipes, which is why I felt the need to have The Recipe Box.
I love to organize the contents of drawers, shelves and cabinets and often forget about the rest of the house. You know, the parts everybody else sees.
I love spring and often find myself thinking about the things I’ll do next spring, such as planting a veggie garden, flowers, shrubs, etc. I think I love spring so much because it’s full of new life and new beginnings (Just one reason Mark and I chose a spring wedding)
I love to read! My husband recently pointed out that I’d finished about six books in the time it took him to get even 3/4 through one. I’m a big fan of suspense/thrillers and tend to choose books that end up at least a little forensics related. I’m a big fan of Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Greg Iles. I also like to read “true crime”, but I think that’s a little creepy to admit.
I’ve always wanted a man who could love everything about me, but I didn’t think it would include things like this. (I still love to read that. It’s great to know that someone feels that way, even when I’m a mess.)
Apparently, one of my “quirks” is that I laugh about everything. My husband says it’s a good thing, but I’m not so sure..
I also talk a lot when I’m excited. My husband continuously laughs about that.
I’m curious about everything and I love learning new things. (Hence the recent cicada “research”)
I have a strange aversion to white soups and sauces (mostly soups). I have no idea why, but I actually get nauseous if I attempt to eat white soup. (Potato soup is one of the exceptions.. sometimes)
I tend to nickname our cats and use those more often than their reals names. For example: One of our cats is named Favorite (at least, that’s what her tag says
). I started calling her Faybrit, then Paybrit, now I call her Paybee-Baby. (haha - now one of our young neighbor girls is calling her Faybee!) Another example is our cat Fluffy. Flutternutter to Fluffer to Flupper to Plupper. Mark calls him Fluffy or Mr. Nutter, and I call Fluffy-nutty most often. (I wonder what nicknames I’ll come up with for our future children.)
It would be a dream to own my own bridal shop someday. I’d also love to live in a cottage surrounded by all things shabby-chic, but my too-manly husband ruins that fantasty
