Kitchen Tip Tuesday – Garlic Butter

One of my favorite things to have when we make pizza or garlic bread is garlic butter. This is the best way I’ve found to make it.
Slice a clove (or several, depending on what you like) of garlic, or press a couple cloves. Place in a microwave-safe bowl. Add butter (again, as much as you like or need).

Cook in microwave at half power for 1 minute and 30-45 seconds. Be sure to watch it so it doesn’t bubble over. You’ll want the butter to be just melted, not cooked. You can take the garlic out, or leave it in. I like to leave it in when I’m using minced/pressed garlic.

Brush on bread.
I brushed some garlic butter on a loaf of homemade french bread, topped it with tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, herbs, cheese and pepperoni and had some delicious french bread pizza for lunch today

ooooh, we do that! (well, i have never tried the pizza on french bread…i have GOT to try it, though, looks yummy!) i also looove to mix honey in with the butter and brush it on whole wheat bread..i can’t think of the brand, but it’s available in our albertson’s bakery. so good!
