My husband I love Chinese food. Well, it’s mostly me, but Mark has found things he likes when we hit up our local Chinese buffet. I think the highlight to the meal for Mark may come at the end.. when we’re handed our fortune cookies. I’m not a huge fan of the taste of fortune cookies, so I crack mine open to read my fortune and then hand the cookie over to Mark. Sound familiar to any of you?

I recently came across a very different kind of fortune cookie and the company that makes them, Fancy Fortune Cookies, and was given the chance to sample several cookies. Let me tell you if we got these cookies at the end of a meal, Mark and I would fight over them!
These very fancy fortune cookies are bright and colorful.. and delicious! I probably ate ten of them before Mark got to try any. (He claimed the Giant Fortune Cookie for himself though)

Fancy Fortune Cookies come in flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, bubblegum, cherry, lemon, mint (my favorite), cappuccino (Mark’s favorite), and more.. and they’re very flavorful! Another great thing about them is that you can have your cookies’ “fortunes” personalized, which makes them awesome gift and favor ideas! If I had known about this company before my wedding, you can bet that we would have ordered some. (Prices range from $41 to $105 for 100 regular-sized cookies.)

The best gift idea is one of their Giant Fortune Cookies, which are dipped in white, milk or dark chocolate, weigh over a pound, are are divine! I let Mark claim the Giant we got to sample, but after I tasted a piece I wished I had kept it for myself.. even though I’m not a huge chocolate lover. (Our’s was dipped in white chocolate.) The fortune in our’s was great, too:

If you didn’t grow up in this area (NE Indiana and NW Ohio) you probably have no idea who Happy the Hobo is, and let me tell you, that’s a true shame! You may remember that I posted a little something about him a while back. What does Happy the Hobo have to do with Fancy Fortune Cookies? He owns this company! Mike Fry, the original Happy the Hobo, started making fortune cookies back in the ’80s and has since perfected the science of flavorful fortune cookies. Don’t believe me? Just try one.

Did I mention that even famous people love these cookies? Not only do they have a nice celebrity client list, but they have repeat celeb. customers! How’s that for an endorsement? ;)
